SAC Website Redesign
SAC's website will relaunch in November with a fresh new look and improved functionality.
Here are some of the improvements you can look forward to (click an image for a full-size view):
SAC Home Page
- Log In/Out is more clearly positioned.
- All RSS Feeds are listed on one page, together with help on accessing them.
- Printer-Friendly Page delivers an optimised version of the current page for printing.
- Choose Style lets you access the site in Mobile, Large Text, Text-Only or High-Contrast view.
- Search - we have increased the number of results per page and improved the results display. You can now save your results as an RSS Feed, allowing you to be notified whenever new content is added which matches your search term/s. You can also add SAC Search to your browser, so you can search the SAC website directly.
- News and Events are more clearly positioned.
- A slideshow of images provides quick links to 2-3 key pieces of content.
- Thumbnail images provide quick links to more key content.
- Explore SAC provides quick links to key content across the whole SAC website.
- More Explore links provide quick links to key content within each section. On the SAC home page, Featured Topics and Latest Publications are shown here. On other home pages, News and Events content appears here.
- Contacts have been improved and can now be downloaded and added to your Address Book.
- Footer links provide access to the site map and other useful information.
- Social Bookmarking links allow you to bookmark and share the current page using these social bookmarking services. What is social bookmarking?
Staff Intranet
Includes the above features, but without slideshow and social bookmarking functionality, and adds:
- Navigation Links on the left, letting you browse to each area of the Intranet.
New home pages for Learning, Consultancy and Research have also been created, each containing all the features outlined above.
In addition, we have made numerous improvements across the site:
- Online purchasing has been extended to include vet training courses, and will be expanding further.
- Course information has been improved, with all the relevant information for each course now grouped in one place.
- Events can be downloaded and added to your Calendar.
- Podcasts have been improved and we aim to increase our use of podcasts across the site. What is a podcast?
