Delivering Public Goods In Agriculture: The Importance Of Genetics Research (2007)

SAC recently carried out research for Defra examining the rationale for investment in, and cost-effectiveness of, genetics research. The research sought to identify what genetics research could contribute to Defra’s objectives; conduct a cost-effectiveness analysis comparing additional research to the best or currently implemented alternative for achieving specific outcomes; and undertake cost-benefit analysis to assess whether further investment in genetic research would be an efficient addition to existing policy instruments.
