This report for the Scottish Government looks at the impact on Scottish agriculture of increasing feed, fuel and fertiliser costs.
In the last year the costs of the main agricultural inputs have risen strongly. Feed costs have risen by between 50% and 80%, fertiliser prices by up to 80% and rebated (red) diesel prices by 40%. This report examines the impact of increased feed, fuel and fertiliser costs on different sectors of Scottish agriculture and explores some of the likely industry reactions and possible government responses.
