SAC and the James Hutton Institute jointly organised a one-day conference held at Pollock Halls, Edinburgh, on Friday 24th February 2012.

The third Rural Scotland in Focus Round Table Debate was held on October 18th 2011, bringing together influential players and stakeholders from the policy arena, from the private, public and third sectors, and from communities.

The Rural Law Research Group at the University of Aberdeen organised its second Rural Law Conference at the Kings College Conference Centre, Aberdeen on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd September 2011.

The Conference explored Sustainable Rural Development under three cross-cutting themes: sustainability, diversification and planning.

The second Rural Scotland in Focus Round Table Debate was held on November 24th 2010.

The three SAC Outlook Roadshows for 2010 were held in Oban, Dumfries and Dingwall, with a good turnout at each event.

This Round Table Debate focused on "Should 'rural' be differentiated within Scotland's development?"

The SAC/AgResearch (New Zealand) Rural Futures Conference was held on 23-24 September 2009, at the John McIntyre Conference Centre, Pollock Halls, University of Edinburgh.

Using video links, this conference explored the lessons we can learn from the different experiences in New Zealand and Scotland as we each debate the future of agriculture, rural businesses and rural communities.
