Artur Steinerowski
Artur Steinerowski is a Researcher in the Rural Society Research Team at SAC. Artur joined SAC in January 2011 and his research focuses on improving the quality of life of people living in remote and rural areas, and the sustainability of rural communities. Until recently, Artur was working on an EU project tackling issues of an ageing population in remote and rural Scotland. The project aimed to promote the independent living of older citizens, to enhance the social capital of remote and rural communities, to facilitate dialogue between service users and service providers and to influence future rural policy.
In his PhD (undertaken in collaboration with the University of Aberdeen and the UHI Milennium Institute), Artur is investigating aspects of rural social entrepreneurship, and in particular, rural and remote social enterprises. The work has explored the operational aspects of innovative forms of businesses/entrepreneurship that bring social outcomes and can contribute to societal development.
Artur holds a MA (Hons) degree in Management Studies and a Masters Degree in Marketing and Management.
