SAC Rural Policy Centre

Julian is a Senior Rural Business Consultant and Team Leader of the Rural Business Unit at SAC. Julian delivers consultancy services to farmers, rural businesses, banks, investors, government agencies and other organisations.

Current projects include analysis of grain and oilseed markets, economics of bio-fuel and energy crops, carbon management and agricultural investment appraisal. He is also responsible for SAC business publications as well as undertaking training for farmers in risk management and enterprise benchmarking. Before joining SAC, Julian was Senior Economist, Crop Marketing HGCA where he oversaw analysis of UK and global cereal markets and was responsible for managing HGCA’s practical farm business development programmes. Julian is an agriculture graduate from Edinburgh University and SAC Aberdeen.
