Rural Policy
SAC conducts a wide range of policy-relevant research that aims to provide the Scottish and UK Government’s and associated stakeholders with the knowledge they need for the development of rural policy.
Our animal and crop scientists, economists and social researchers work together to develop the multi- and inter-disciplinary approaches that are needed to examine the complex problems that policymakers face today.
By assessing the impact of current policies on rural industries, communities and the environment, our research contributes to contemporary policy debates and by analysing the potential policy options our research informs discussions about the future of rural policy.
