Signs Of Worm Infestation

Most sheep do carry some worms, but visual inspection of sheep is a poor and inaccurate method of assessing worm burdens.

Signs of a significant worm problem include poor growth and anaemia, although significant production losses and welfare costs may already have been incurred by the time sheep show these changes.

Faecal egg counts, that is the number of worm eggs in a sheep dung sample, is a good assessment of worm problems.
