SAC is one of Europe’s leading specialist institutions in science and technology – providing university level education, training, research and development, advice and consultancy for agriculture and its associated industries, rural development, food production and the management of land and natural resources.

The growing human population, and growing global demand for food, are major challenges in their own right, but will need to be addressed in a world with a potentially dramatically changing climate, and with growing pressure on its natural resources. Addressing these challenges will need world-class, integrated research, learning and also consultancy that make a real difference in practice.

Our Research, Teaching and Consulting divisions provide an excellent platform for international engagement and we have many years of collaboration with international partners in over 40 countries around the world. We also attract international students and staff that deepen our international engagement. We are always happy to discuss new partnership opportunities.

We collaborate with other leading academics internationally, play a key role in EU research networks and engage with scientists, policy makers, land managers and commercial companies in the world’s rapidly growing economies and some of the poorest nations on the planet. Those partnerships contribute to key international targets on greenhouse gas reduction, poverty alleviation and the protection of biodiversity and other ecosystem services.
