Focus Group Meeting 4
November 2008
These meetings were held in November 2008, in the Peak District, Lake District, Mid-Wales and North Scotland.
In total, 60 farmers took part. The aim of these meetings were mainly to get feedback on the methods used in the project and on the results obtained so far.
With the help of an audience participation kit, farmers were asked to consider:
- preliminary results on the farm inventories
- the assessment of nutrition on farm from the farm inventory
- labour at gathering
Huw Davies, a Welsh sheep farmer in the Dolaucothi estate and chairman of the Ruminants Standing Committee of FWAC, also talked to the farmers about the challenges and opportunities of sheep welfare and lamb marketing.
