Increasing student engagement with PDP - Dr Kyrsten Black, 26/01/12

The seminar will introduce a project that was set up to devise a practical approach to integrating PDP (including the plan to map graduate attributes and the use of eportfolios) throughout all four years of the RBM programme using PebblePAD. We thought it was important to encourage students to begin this process of PDP as early as possible. We used the Year 1 Developing Skills and Personal Effectiveness module, the Graded Units in Years 1 and 2 and the work placement modules during the summer break. There were a number of outcomes from the project, both intended and unintended. Results show the distinctive nature of different student groups’ approach to, and engagement with, PDP. Crucially, the importance of the student voice has been pivotal in driving the direction taken by this project.
