Edinburgh Genetic Evaluation Services

SAC recently launched Edinburgh Genetic Evaluation Services  (EGENES) in association with the University of Edinburgh and Roslin Institute.

EGENES currently provides genetic evaluations for UK dairy cattle, on behalf of the Milk Development Council (MDC), as part of its Breeding+ service. The service has been extended to beef and sheep breeders, in association with BASCO and MLC’s Signet Breeding services.

The partners have launched this service to help ensure that UK livestock breeders benefit from breeding tools that are being continually improved in the light of new research.
