How To Find Kirkton Farm
Entrance to Kirkton, and offices of the Hill and Mountain Research Centre, are 3 miles north of Crianlarich on the A82/A85 between Crianlarich to Tyndrum road. Turn right off the main road onto a single track tarmac entrance. Follow the road up into the steading area and into courtyard area at rear of farmhouse. There is a 13 tonne weight limit on the bridge.
Further along the A82 the entrance to Auchtertyre and Strathfillan Wigwams is next right. Both the farm buildings and reception are located at the end of the single-track tarmac road, turning right over the narrow Auchtertyre Bridge.
Whilst minibuses can access Kirkton, larger buses cannot cross the wooden bridge, and parties are met at the hay shed area at Auchtertyre, where there is ample space to turn around and park.
Car parking
A small number of cars can park at St Fillan’s Priory at Kirkton.
There is a large car park for walkers at Auchtertyre just before the Auchtertyre bridge. Access for set-down for the all-abilities path is signposted at the Auchtertyre bridge.
