Easy Does It For Award Pair
John Vipond and Marcus Maxwell with their British Grassland Society Innovation Award (opens in new window)
SAC sheep specialist John Vipond is joint winner of this year's British Grassland Society Innovation award.
The BGS award seeks to recognise those who are currently making outstanding contributions to the development, understanding or application of grassland and forage crop husbandry or technology.
John Vipond shared his prize with Kirkcudbrightshire farmer Marcus Maxwell for their combined contribution to the development and promotion of the forage aspects of Easy Care sheep systems.
Among the ideas they have championed are the use of clover-based swards for outdoor lambing and the integration of chicory pastures for lamb finishing and worm control.
