Packing In The Energy At Auchincruive
Once again Auchincruive was the venue for the fifth Annual Sustainable Energy Fair, held on 12th September. Over 1,400 folk came through the gates, travelling from Ayrshire, Dumfries & Galloway and beyond.
The event, which was hosted by Ayrshire-based organisation, The Energy Agency, featured talks, exhibitions and demonstrations on issues such as renewable energy, waste management, sustainable house design, energy efficiency and grants.
Among the items featured on the SAC stand were the new environmental courses. Meanwhile South Ayrshire Council Provost, Winifred Sloan took to the driving seat in an eco-driving simulator, which attracted attention all day. For the children attending the event, there was the chance to make bird feeders, create collages and paint an energy efficiency themed mural.
According to Nick Sparks, Dean of the Auchincruive Campus, “The event lived up to its reputation. We are always delighted to welcome the fair to Auchincruive and are pleased such an important subject continues to be popular with the public.”
