AMTRA (Animal Medicines Training Regulatory Authority) is an independent regulatory body whose task it is to ensure that the marketing and distribution of animal medicines in the UK is undertaken in a responsible manner by AMTRA qualified persons. http://www.sac.ac.uk/news/forthcomingevents/100913amtra

SAC runs training courses and host exams for all people wishing to become suitably qualified (An SQP is a Suitably Qualified Person and is allowed to prescribe and/or supply certain medicines (those classified POM-VPS and NFA-VPS) for farm animals, horses, and pets).
