Feedback from Skye for Bill McKelvey
SAC Chief Executive and Principal Bill McKelvey made a recent visit to Skye and the western isles recently, taking in a suckled calf sale at Portree and seeing the traditional harvest of the machair crops on Uist while visiting the FRBS office at Balivanich.
During his visit to the Portree FRBS Office Bill dropped in on Borve crofter John Angus MacKenzie who outlined the challenges facing crofting today; including increased paper work, electronic tagging, hill sheep performance and the shortage of young crofters.
However it was not all doom and gloom as John Angus said:
“I enjoyed the Monitor Township project. We certainly benefited from it and will continue to do so.”
