SAC’s Dr Sarah Skerratt was one of five independent experts judging the high profile LEADER Dumfries & Galloway Rural Awards, the winners of which have just been announced.
The awards comprised five categories reflecting the Scottish Government’s core objectives: Wealthier and Fairer; Greener; Healthier; Safer and Stronger; and Greener.
Sarah, a Senior Researcher with SAC’s Land Economy and Environment Research Group, judged the Healthier Scotland category which recognised projects that are creating opportunities to improve health and helping to establish or strengthen links between communities and the land around them.
The winner of this category was the Moorland Education Project based in Langholm.
