Computers to Malawi

As part of the SAC’s on-going relationship with Bunda College (University of Malawi), SAC IS Group have cleaned redundant laptop computers.

Staff from SAC’s Dairy Research Centre at Crichton Royal, Dumfries will be returning to the country in February and will take two of the  laptops with them. Meanwhile Malawian MSc student Daniel Chiumia, who is working at Crichton for a year, accepted the computers on behalf of his colleagues.

Staff at the University will use the lap tops to record, store and analyse data from the recently expanded dairy herd and local commercial herds. SAC are working with Bunda College on a three year project designed to increase and develop the technical knowledge of dairy farmers in Malawi. The project is funded by Scottish Government through its International Development Programme.
