Kids Out at Craibstone (opens in new window)
For the tenth year in a row SAC’s Aberdeen Campus hosted the annual ‘Kids Out’ event around the halls of residence at Craibstone. Organised by Aberdeen Rotarians, nearly 800 youngsters with special needs, including their helpers, from Aberdeen and the “Shire” descended on Craibstone for the day, which turned out warm and sunny.
It is an event SAC staff and students are proud to be part of and look forward to. With a thousand people to cater for there are hundreds of sandwiches to make, goodie bags to fill for the kids to take home and a mammoth clear up afterwards! Meanwhile the kids go home with tummy’s and hands full, buzzing with memories of activities like face painting, miniature steam train rides, the bouncy castle and a ride on a Clydesdale horse, the magician, the puppet show and climbing wall to name but a few.
