SAC Sheep Man’s Winning Habit

It has been a year of awards for SAC Senior Sheep Consultant John Vipond and he continued the habit at the recent “Sheep 2010” event, held on the Three Counties Show ground at Malvern in Worcestershire.

“Just for a laugh”, John joined the other 249 who entered the Carcase Classification competition being run by meat industry promotion body Eblex. He managed 20 out of 20, judging the conformation and fat grades on all four carcasses correctly and was only 3kg out in estimating the weights.

John received his award (and a handsome cheque) from Steve Powdrill, National Selection Manager with Eblex.
