SAC Wins Bronze and Is Going for Gold
Healthy Working Lives (opens in new window)
SAC has achieved the Healthy Working Lives (HWL) Bronze Award, in recognition of its commitment to the health and wellbeing of its workforce.
The national HWL awards scheme supports employers and employees to develop and maintain health promotion and safety in the workplace in a practical way.
The Bronze award is the first rung of the ladder of the HWL scheme. To achieve it, SAC has established a dedicated working group which assesses health and safety needs and raises awareness of HWL across its numerous campus and office locations.
Senior HR Advisor Lizzie Lundy co-ordinated SAC’s efforts to win the Bronze award. She explained: “The Healthy Working Lives assessors who looked at what we are doing said we have a great foundation on which to build as we look to move onto the Silver and then the Gold awards. They reported that we have a very strong portfolio of initiatives geared towards supporting everyone who works for SAC to be healthy and safe at work, from our fundamental health and safety polices and procedures to our rolling health surveillance programme.
“SAC has always taken health and wellbeing very seriously but it is wonderful to receive this external recognition of this commitment and our desire to continue to build on our strong foundation. We’ve already started planning for our Silver award with the ultimate aim of going for Gold!”
