Recognition For Health-conscious SAC

Hot on the heels of the Healthy Working Lives Bronze Award, SAC is delighted to have achieved formal approval and certification from the British Standards Institute (BSI) for the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001:2007.

The OHSAS specification is the internationally recognised standard that gives requirements for an occupational health and safety management system, to enable an organisation to control its occupational health and safety risks and improve its performance. It is believed that SAC is the first HEI in Scotland to be awarded this accreditation.

BSI Training Director Mike Bailey, pictured centre, recently presented the OHSAS certificate to SAC’s Environment Health & Safety Manager David Collins and Janet Swadling, Director of Finance and Corporate Affairs.
