Dr Poo Open Doors at Roslin
Dr Poo at work (aka Dr Jos Houdijk, SAC Nutrition and Health, Disease Systems) (opens in new window)
Hands on exhibits and a friendly welcome made the Roslin Institute Building, shared by SAC and University of Edinburgh, one of the success stories of the recent Midlothian “Open Doors” venues.
There were over 550 visitors during the day and the feed back from the public was very positive. There were a number of exhibits spanning subjects as diverse as “The Hidden life of Skeletons” to our own Jos Houdijk as Dr Poo, showing just how interesting the brown stuff can be. Dr Poo has since been asked to join Science Labs and in November will be visiting a P2 and P3 classes at a local primary school.
Many thanks to the Roslin team headed by Dr Helen Sang for putting the event together.
