PhD student Nanung Danar Dono (opens in new window)
Congratulations to Indonesian PhD student Nanung Danar Dono, who has won the 2011 Edgar Pye Research Scholarship.
The award provides funding for original agricultural research on animal feed, feeding systems or nutrition. Nanung, who is a student with SAC’s Avian Science Research Centre, will use it to fund part of his research into poultry nutrition.
Senior Poultry Research Scientist Oluyinka Olukosi said: “Because of the involvement of the feed industry in granting the scholarship, the work it funds must have direct practical relevance to the animal feed industry. The proof-of-concept work Nanung is embarking on will provide useful data that can be used for practical poultry feed formulation. The fact that his scholarship proposal was successful is evidence that the feed industry recognises the relevance of his work and it is a tribute to Nanung’s forward-thinking mind.”
