Careers Convention is a Job Well Done

SAC Careers Convention, Nov 2011 (opens in new window)

There was a lively buzz at King’s Buildings in Edinburgh when more than 200 students from all three of SAC’s campuses descended on the Arcade for the annual SAC Careers Convention.

Around 20 companies, from AB Agri to Vion Food Group, took part in this year’s fair, seeking to attract their next generation of ambitious employees. In addition to a colourful display of stalls, students heard presentations about the potential career opportunities awaiting them at Co-op farms, SAC consulting, EQ Chartered Accountants, Bright Green Placements, Agrovista, Africa and Asia Venture and Aviagen.

Student Recruitment Officer Suzanne Hay said: “We encourage our students to be ambitious in their career choices and start their career planning at the earliest opportunity. The Convention provides them with the opportunity to consider a wide range of companies or career paths, some of which they may not have thought of previously. The event also gives staff that chance to liaise and network with exhibitors, building industry links.

“We are grateful to all the exhibitors for taking part and helping to make the event such a success.”
