Spotlight on Anaerobic Digestion and Composts

A free event planned for Jamesfield Farm near Newburgh on Tuesday 13th December will focus on the use of biofertlisers and composts on farm land.
Organised by Zero Waste Scotland and SAC the meeting includes presentations and discussion about anaerobic digestion. In the afternoon, after lunch, any farmers, crop consultants and students attending will have the opportunity for a site visit to the anaerobic digestion facility at the Binn Eco Park near Glenfarg.
At the meeting SAC Consultant Alec Sinclair will speak on the safe and effective use of composts and digestates, while others will cover subjects including an update on farm assurance scheme rules and the benefits and challenges of using composts and digestates.
The meeting will be held at the Jamesfield Organic Centre, Abernethy, near Newburgh, Fife. KY14 6EQ. It begins at 9.30 with lunch at 13.00. While attendance is free places are limited so please book a place by contacting Stephanie.ewart@sac.co.uk or calling 01738 636611.
