SAC Aberdeen Gains Extra Star - Quality of Craibstone Campus Accommodation Recognised

The halls of residence at SAC’s Craibstone Campus, Aberdeen have been awarded 3-star Campus Accommodation status from the Scottish Tourist Board for one of their accommodation blocks. SAC’s Business Development Manager Gwen Bruce is delighted.

“This is as great achievement. Having the 3 star award from the Scottish Tourist Board helps promote and sell the halls outwith term time, from mid March to mid April and then again July, August and September.  For many years the halls at Craibstone were categorised as 2-star Campus Accommodation, this new award means SAC can now market them as 2-3 and will help make a significant contribution to SAC’s business”.

The Craibstone accommodation is marketed on various websites, VisitScotland publications and golf magazines. The en suite facilities, which consist of 60 rooms, including a number with twin beds, sell particularly well during the biennial Offshore Europe Exhibition held in Aberdeen during September. SAC works with Munro’s Business Travel who run a coach from Craibstone to the event and back.

Paying tribute to the work carried out by SAC’s Estates Department and Sodexo in helping SAC achieve the award Gwen Bruce pointed out that a video of the accommodation and facilities was commissioned last summer and has been uploaded on the SAC website.

“This truly shows the Craibstone Campus at it’s very best” she said. “All our rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, digital television, towels and internet access. Our on-site facilities include a café/shop and lounge bar, multi-gym; sauna and steam room and laundry facilities. Although we are 5 minutes from Aberdeen Airport and with ample parking space there are golf course and woodland walks nearby. Families and groups are welcome and we also allow dogs”.
