SAC Muirburn Workshop Goes on the Road

SAC muirbun expert Dr Alistair Hamilton will be on tour over the next couple of weeks delivering a series of free muirburn workshops.

The events will take place on Lewis and Benbecula and in Ross-shire on 11, 12 and 18 February respectively. Alistair will be joined at each location by staff members from the local SAC Consulting Farm Business Services offices who will be offering a local perspective.

All three workshops will cover topics including the environmental benefits of muirburn, the principles of fire and muirburn planning, practice and regulation.

The workshops are free but participants are asked to phone the local SAC offices to register and for further information and directions:

The workshops are being funded by the Scottish Government as part of its Biodiversity and Conservation Advisory Activity.
