SAC Outlook on the Road Again in 2010 – Programmes Confirmed for all Three Events
SAC News Release Ref. No: 10N62
Published: 01 Sep 2010
The programmes and speakers for all three of the SAC Outlook “Roadshow” events have been confirmed. The autumn series has been organised to take the latest SAC business/market analysis direct to farmer audiences, coupled with thought provoking commentary by respected industry figures.
The locations chosen for this year’s series are Oban, Dumfries and Dingwall, building on the experience of last years visits to Kelso, Thainstone and Stirling. The Oban event, in the Corran Halls, is timed for the afternoon, offering more flexibility for potential ferry travellers. The Dumfries (Cairndale Hotel) and Dingwall (Dingwall & Highland Mart) are both evening functions, starting at 7.30 pm and finishing at 9.30.
Each free event will be chaired by an SAC Board member, with two presentations from expert SAC staff and a key note address by an invited speaker. There will be an opportunity to question the panels at each gathering. The programmes have been chosen to reflect industry interests in the different areas, while together they offer an industry wide perspective. In the build up to major reform of the CAP the aim is to try and help farmers consider how they might adjust their business plans for the challenges ahead.
The series is funded by Scottish Government as part of the Success through Knowledge campaign. Anyone wanting further information should contact the SAC offices in Oban, Dumfries and Inverness or ken.rundle@sac.co.uk or Oonagh.carrol@sac.co.uk (0131 535 4008). While the event is free some idea of the numbers attending would help those planning post event refreshments.
