David Ross Becomes A Fellow

David Ross (opens in new window)

SAC research engineer David Ross, a member of the Sustainable Livestock Systems Group, has been made a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies.

At a recent presentation in Edinburgh, David was described as an engineer of exceptional experience, ability and dedication.  He was praised for his down to earth approach supported by sound knowledge and an ability to provide practical solutions to problems.

David began working with the Scottish Centre of Agricultural Engineering, developing and patenting various mechanisms to help crop handling.  Much of that work involved potatoes and, with SAC, David ran the UK potato crop systems group.

Most recently David’s attention has turned to livestock and in particular meat production. He has been working on instrumentation to assess meat quality, products that will have commercial potential.
