"Auld Alliance" View On CAP Reform

An alliance of French and Scottish speakers will be addressing a one day conference on CAP reform to be hosted in Edinburgh by the SAC Rural Policy Centre. Leading academics, policy experts and experienced Brussels observers will be taking part at the event to be held in Pollock Halls, Edinburgh on Monday, 29th March.

There will be four sessions, which will be conducted in English and French, with simultaneous translation. The first session will address market instability and income risk for farmers, the second will consider the public goods provided by agriculture.

In the afternoon, adjustment and rural development issues will be featured with the final session involving a round table discussion. Taking part in this will be senior officials and journalists with a good grasp of the thinking within DG Agri, the Commission and Council.

There will be more information in future editions of SAC News. Those interested in registering can do so on the Agricultural Economics Society website.
