SEM Course Information
I’m Karen, I’m here at SAC studying Sustainable Environmental Management, that basically just means all the environmental sciences. A really good thing about this College not everything is theory, we don’t sit in the classroom all day, we go outside and we do a lot of practical work that helps us understand our Courses a bit better. We look at environmental impacts, we do ecological surveys, we do pond dipping and things like that - it’s great fun. I used to go to a different establishment before I came here, but the job prospects weren’t very promising for the Course I was on and I met SAC while I was at a Job Fayre - I liked their Prospectus, I liked what they had to offer so I came along for an interview and I thought it would be a great place to come and study. It’s a small Campus, there’s not very many people here, it gives us a perfect opportunity to get to know each other better. We do lots of silly things in Induction Week, where we play silly little games and you feel a bit childish at the time, but it’s good fun because it gives you a chance to get to meet your peers and the people that you’re going to be studying with and it’s helped us to bond and form as a group so that you don’t have a problem asking someone in your class for help if you want to, it’s great.
It’s a lovely Campus, it’s close to the City, but you wouldn’t realise it. It’s got like its own little bit of countryside here, there’s woodland walks, there’s a burn, there’s all sort of things going on, you can go out for a walk, you can sit in the garden where I am at the moment and enjoy your lunch so it’s a fab place to be.
You should come and check us out - SAC.
