The Business Of Farming: A Course For Bankers
Course Programme
The course is in two parts. The first part is to provide the economic and technical background of farming from a whole agricultural industry perspective to the individual farm business.
The second part of the course discusses some of the techniques of farm business management which the banker and consultant can employ to help the farmer make better use of the available resources.

The one week course is a mix of formal papers and visits to three commercial farms which illustrate the main farm types in Britain. Ample time is provided for discussion throughout the course to draw on the course participants' own experiences. For the second part of the course another commercial farm is visited in order to provide a series of case studies relating to problems associated with the business, in which course members participate fully.
