FACTS (Fertiliser Advisers Certification & Training Scheme)
Course Programme
The programme covers the following:
- The soil in relation to plant nutrition
- Organic nutrient sources
- The nature and properties of fertilisers
- Crop nutients in plants and the factors influencing nutrient management planning
- Use of fertilisers on the main crop groups in the UK
- The transport, storage and handling of fertilisers
- Application of fertilisers
- Code of Good Agricultural Practice and legal and requirements to protect the environment
Is It For Me?
A background knowledge of farming and arable crop production is required for this course.

Location of Course
SAC Aberdeen, Crainbstone Estate, Aberdeen, AB21 9YA
Length of Course
The course lasts for one week 21st - 25th March 2011. The exams are in the following week (30th - 31st March 2011).
Whilst SAC reserves the right to amend any scheduled event or to cancel for whatever reason, we shall endeavour to run all courses as scheduled. A minimum number of candidates is required due to minimum numbers being set for BASIS exams.

SAC Facilities
The Aberdeen campus is conveniently situated near Aberdeen Airport and Dyce Railway Station to the north of the City of Aberdeen. The modern building is in a rural location in landscaped grounds. Accommodation may be available on campus, otherwise an accommodation list is available.
Course Costs
Training costs £550 plus the BASIS exam fee which is currently £170 (total £720)
