Course Programme

The BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection (Amenity Horticulture) has been approved by Ministers to meet the requirements of Schedule 2 of the Control of Pesticide Regulations for those involved in the sale, advice and supply of pesticides. The course is divided into two study periods in order to allow time for self study and preparation for the exams in February.

The course programme includes:

  • on-line material available prior to the course
  • lectures by subject specialists
  • site visits
  • exercises in weed, pest and disease identification
  • exercises in the use of spray equipment
  • revision exercises

Is It For Me?

The course is available to contractors, distributors, manufacturers and suppliers, consultants, sports turf managers, local authority managers and others with an interest in giving advice or in the sale of pesticides to the amenity sector. It is important to have some practical experience. If you wish to discuss the course, please get in touch.
