SAC Learning

As all teaching, SAC learning materials, and assessment is in English. Therfore, competency in written, spoken, and the understanding of English must be demonstrated.

SAC prefers the Academic IELTS English Exam as proof of English language level.

For undergraduate courses, our requirement is that you achieve an overall 6.0 in your IELTS exam for entry to HNC/HND courses, or IELTS 6.5 for entry onto degree courses.

For postgraduate programmes, a minimum level of IELTS 6.5 must be achieved. 

SAC does accept other English language qualifications, such as the following:

For entry onto degree and postgraduate courses:

• Achieve CEFR Level C1
• IELTS 6.5
• TOEFL (internet based) 92
• CPE (Cambridge Proficiency Exam) 
• CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam) Grade A or B
• PTE Academic 76
• GCSE/iGCSE English Grade C or above
• International Baccalaureate English

For entry onto HNC and HND courses:

• Achieve CEFR Level B2
• IELTS 6.0
• TOEFL (internet based) 78
• CAE (Cambridge Advanced Exam) Grade C
• FCE (First Certificate in English) Grade A
• PTE Academic 60 
• GCSE/iGCSE English Grade C or above
• International Baccalaureate English

If you are from outwith the EU or EEA and will require a visa to study in the UK, you must comply with the Tier 4 English language requirements as detailed by the UK Border Agency.

This means that unless you are from the EU or EEA, or one of the countries listed below, you must have an English language qualification as detailed above.
