Sir Stephen Watson Prize
We're delighted to announce that Claire Morrison, Student Recruitment and Admissions Officer based at the Edinburgh campus, has been awarded the Sir Stephen Watson Prize.
The Prize is awarded to a member of SAC staff on an annual basis, and Claire was chosen this year because of the significant contribution she has made throughout the time she has worked at SAC.
Claire has been with SAC for a number of years and as such has become well-known within the organisation. In addition to her Recruitment workload, she took over the administration of the admissions process for SAC in 2004, since when she has developed a number of new skills and procedures which have assisted education managers in improving the monitoring and targeting of applications to SAC. Her work has undoubtedly been a significant contribution to the improvement in student numbers since 2004/05.
It is worth noting that in spite of an enhanced and changing role within the College, Claire also retains a significant role in the pastoral care and welfare of students. Her work is acknowledged as greatly assisting the work of the Senior Tutor, Programme Leaders and Advisers of Study in supporting the personal and academic experiences of students studying at SAC.
