Key Horticulture and Garden Design lecturers at SAC:
SAC Ayr
- Peter MacDonald teaches amenity and production classes. Peter is past President of the International Plant Propagators Society (GB&I Region). He has researched into growing media and nutrition and the commercialisation of the oil produced by the native Scottish plant Myrica gale.
- Mark McQuilken is a specialist in crop protection and also teaches amenity and production horticulture classes. Mark has extensive experience in the production of protected crops, and has researched and published widely in the control of diseases in edible and ornamental horticultural crops.
- Jeremy Needham runs his own garden Design business and is the specialist garden design lecturer. Having come from a teaching background, Jeremy is typical of many of our students who come onto the courses because they want a change of career direction.
