Short Courses
Short courses for CPD, training or leisure purposes!
You can take part just for fun or for your own interest, or along with your class mates, you can submit an assessment at the end of the module, and gain credit for your study. This credit can then be transferred to another course, or may be built up over time at SAC into a recognised qualification.
This section of our web site provides an idea of the range of courses we offer at SAC. Modules from our HNC, HND and degree programmes are all available as short courses, as some have no or little prior learning requirements. Information about fees can be found by following the link to the right. Places on our short courses are desirable and there may be competition for places. Completing an Application does not guarantee a place, but does allow you to participate in the selection process and if places are available an offer would be made to you.
SAC offers courses in the areas of Applied Bioscience and Green Technology, Horticulture and Landscape, Agriculture and Poultry, Sport, Leisure and Tourism, Environment, Ecology and Conservation, and Business Management.
We try to organise each module so that classes take place over one complete morning or one complete afternoon each week. "Mornings" are usually 09:00-12:30, "Afternoons" usually 13:30-17:00. Modules run for 10 weeks of study, and may include classes, presentations, discussions, practical sessions, and field trips.
Further information, including descriptions of some of our short courses are available by following both the links below, and those on the menu on right hand side of this page which include the application form, information about provision at each campus, fees and funding information, and general information about courses at SAC.
Please note: Due to their nature, short courses are an unsuitable course of study for overseas applicants who require a study visa to enter the UK, unless a full-time programme is to be arranged. A programme consisting of at least 15 hours per week of study, comprising several short course modules, must be applied for. For further advice, please contact the College.
