Air
Glasgow Prestwick and Glasgow International airports offer connecting flights to cities throughout the UK as well as Europe. Glasgow Prestwick airport offers bus and taxi connections with Ayr town centre. Visit the Glasgow Prestwick Airport website for further information.
Bus
Ayr bus station is a 30 minute walk from the campus. Buses serve both the local area and offer connections to Glasgow and the rest of Scotland. The 01 bus route in the direction of Hayhill connects both the bus and train stations with Craigie Way, a short walk from the campus entrance. The journey takes around 15 minutes, and buses run every 15 minutes. More details of local buses can be found on the Stagecoach Bus website.
Foot
Those on foot are also able to access the campus via the River Ayr Walk which runs along the north side of the river past the front of the campus building. Starting at the High Street/Old Bridge Street, this offers a pleasant 20 minute stroll from the town centre.
Taxi
If travelling by taxi, from the centre of Ayr or Prestwick Airport, ask for The Scottish Agricultural College, University Avenue, Craigie. A taxi from Ayr train station will cost around £5 and a taxi from Prestwick Airport will cost around £8.
Train
Ayr train station offers a regular service to Glasgow, with connections to the rest of the UK. A service also runs between Ayr and Stranraer, for ferry services to Ireland. The Riverside Campus is a 20-25 minute walk from Ayr train station.

Bicycle
There are 104 parking spaces for bicycles located around the entrance courtyard, riverside steps, Students’ Union and to the east of the building. Room 1.010 on Level 1 is a locker room for cyclists and is adjacent to the changing rooms. There are 10 male and 10 female showers in the changing areas of the gymnasium on Level 1 which can be accessed when available. The lockers within this area are for student use only when scheduled for classes within the gymnasium and/or performance areas.
Car (staff and students with access permits)
There are four car parks around the Campus. Car parks 1 and 2 are directly to the north of the building; car parks 3 and 4 are at the end of University Avenue next to the student residences. The disabled parking area is next to the entrance courtyard at the north side of the building.
Parking on University Avenue or the public highway adjacent to the Campus is not permitted.
Car (Visitors, staff and students not in possession of access permits)
Visitors and colleagues from other campuses may request access to a parking space in car park 2 by contacting the UWS Estates Helpdesk (01292 886211), normally at least 24 hours prior to attending. All others including staff and students should park in local public car parks (see South Ayrshire Council's Interactive Parking Map).
