Institutional internal reviews
Summary of the findings of the institution’s own internal reviews of quality and standards.
Examples and Comments
Internal review of the quality of education provision is covered by the following processes:
- the overview report of the annual programme reviews
- periodic internal review
Each annual programme review includes a critical appraisal of the programme’s performance, covering curricula; environment and resources; teaching, learning and assessment; student guidance and support and quality control. It draws on evidence from feedback from staff, students and external examiners.
Periodic internal review operates on a six-year cycle and deals with groups of programmes in particular subject areas or with student support services.
