How To Use This Service

Disease Diagnostics: Farm Animals

The price list gives detailed information on services - please check your requirements before submitting.  The price list is revised annually, all prices quoted are subject to VAT.  To apply for a price list please contact one of our labs.

  • A guide to submission of samples and tests available (Acrobat file) will help you choose the correct type of investigation for more common diseases and conditions. Please read this in conjunction with the "List of available test and sample requirements".
  • Submissions should be accompanied by an SAC farm animal services submission form.  Please state clearly on the submission form how you wish to receive your report, ie telephone, fax, etc.

Post Office Regulations

  • The Royal Mail has strict regulations governing the sending of pathological material through the post.
  • Primary receptacle - specimens should be sent in a labelled primary watertight, leakproof container which should be wrapped in sufficient absorbent material to act as a buffer to absorb all fluid in case of breakage.
  • A second durable, watertight, leakproof receptacle to enclose and protect the primary receptacle. Several wrapped primary receptacles may be placed in one secondary receptacle. Sufficient additional absorbent material must be used to cushion multiple primary receptacles.
  • The secondary receptacle is placed in an outer package to protect it from physical damage and water whilst in transit.
  • It must be clearly labelled "pathological specimen".
