Generalised and systemic diseases
Porcine Dermatitis and Nephropathy Syndrome (PDNS) was diagnosed in a 12 week old finisher. It was seen to be unwell so was removed from the pen but died the following day. The other nine animals were unaffected. At necropsy there were typical extensive petechial and echymotic haemorrhages within the skin of the perineum, scrotum and caudal hind limbs. The kidneys were dark and covered with petechiae and the urine was dark and cloudy.
