Marek’s disease was diagnosed in two small flocks of layers aged eight to eighteen months.

Weight loss, ataxia and death were reported. An adult layer that died after showing respiratory signs for seven days had severe egg yolk peritonitis and an adenocarcinoma of the reproductive tract. Pasteurella multocida was also isolated from the lungs of this bird.
