Dogs & Cats
A five-month-old Lurcher with persistent diarrhoea was faeces sampled and culture showed the presence of Salmonella Typhimurium DT 40.
The phage type is commonly found in wild birds at domestic bird tables, access to which this dog would have had. There were no other cases in the area and no-one in the family was ill.
