Most of the flocks submitting birds for post mortem examination were small "hobby" flocks.
Marek’s disease was diagnosed in a one-year-old cockerel, and in a six-month-old pullet from different flocks. A metastatic adenocarcinoma of the intestine was found in a mature hen, and chronic inflammatory lesions in the distal oviduct of a two-year-old hen were attributed to vent pecking.
