Racing Pigeons

Salmonella Typhimurium DT2 infection was confirmed in three racing pigeons aged ten weeks. Septic arthritis was present in two of the birds, and two birds had mottled livers.

The owner had taken delivery of the birds two weeks previously. Circovirus infection was confirmed in young pigeons from two different lofts in which weight loss and loose faeces were reported.
