Conservation Services
SAC's conservation consultants are accredited environmental specialists who provide all types of wildlife, habitat and landscape management advice to land managers.
We have an understanding of both the environmental and financial requirements of farm businesses and work closely with our local Farm Business Services consultants to maximise the financial and conservation benefits of best environmental practice.
We can provide a range of services including:
- farm and estate conservation plans.
- grant applications for agri-environment schemes.
- amenity woodland advice.
- habitat creation and restoration projects.
- cross-compliance guidance.
- training courses for farmers, crofters and other land managers.
- European Protected Species surveys.
For further information, please contact Gillian McKnight or your local Farm Business Services office.
Woodlands Services
SAC's consultants understand the environmental and financial demands on farm and rural businesses. Increasingly woodlands form an integral part of many farm businesses.
Well designed woodlands offer amenity, shelter, shooting or income from timber production. Government policy supports woodland creation and management; grant aid from the Forestry Commission provides an opportunity for farm diversification.
SAC's woodland consultants offer a range of specialist services, including:
- woodland design and preparation of grant applications.
- management of new planting and maintenance.
- cash workflows and budgets.
- woodland surveys and forest plans.
- digital mapping and record keeping.
- sale of timber.
For further information please contact Simon Jacyna or your local Farm Business Services office.
SAC's conservation and woodlands consultants work closely other organisations such as the Game Conservancy Trust and RSPB to ensure that all projects maximise economic and environmental benefits.
