Is it necessary to use organically-grown seed?
Organically grown seed should be used when available. Organic seed or seed mixtures containing a percentage of organic seed must be attempted to be obtained in the first instance.
The use of non-organic seed is restricted, and can only be used with written approval of the certification body. In 2005, grass seed mixtures containing at least than 60% organically grown seed had to be used.
